Cleans Critical Areas of Your Guns FASTER & MORE Thoroughly Than Traditional Cleaning Methods

The Breechtool® is an easy-to-use cleaning tool that helps you keep your firearms running smoothly and reliably. Proven through extensive testing, the Breechtool® can easily reduce cleaning time by up to 40%! Use it to quickly and thoroughly remove the stubbornest carbon buildup from the most hard-to-reach areas of your guns. It's so compact you can carry it with you at all times. You'll have the peace of mind of knowing you can give your gun a cleaning at any time, reducing the risk of a malfunction at a critical moment. With proper use, the Breechtool® cannot damage your firearm, and of course, it’s covered by the Brownells Forever Guarantee.

The Breechtool® is so versatile you can use it to clean a wide variety of rifles, including the AR-15, AR-308, M16, M4, C7A2, AR-18, AR-180, BRN-180, H&K G36, FN SCAR, FN15, HK416, HK417. It works just as well on pistols such as the Glock®, Smith & Wesson M&P, Springfield Armory XD, SIG P320, CZ 75, and many, many other firearms not listed here!

Breechtool® Original consists of three components designed for specific cleaning tasks. The patented main tool lets you get cleaning patches into tight places previously untouched effectively by any other cleaning tool on the market. Its unique shape enables you to dislodge stubborn carbon and grit by allowing both clockwise and counter-clockwise movement because it does not rely on a threaded attachment.

The unique brush head can be angled to scrub any dirty part of the firearm. Two grades of stiffness, indicated by green and black brush heads, are strong enough to dislodge anything and bounce back time after time. The nylon bristles are tough on fouling but soft enough not to damage any part of the gun. The brushes are easily cleaned in warm, soapy water, but eventually they will wear out. Replacement brush heads are available here on Brownells.com.

The pin tool is very useful for getting into hard-to-reach places. The straight, flat edge is excellent for scraping off carbon deposits, especially on gas system components.

Breechtool Lite® is the entry-level Breechtool® for those on a budget who still want to do serious cleaning quickly. Its simplified profile lets you take advantage of the scrubbing action of the brush heads and the main tool, but it lacks the pin tool or folding joint.

The handy Breechtool® Ops Pack consists of the Original Breechtool® and five (5) each of the Black and Green brush heads.

Hasn't Scratched Yet, Never Will: The material of the Breechtool® body is made of high-quality 304 Sheffield Stainless steel, which has about half the Vickers hardness of the barrels and barrel extensions on most modern rifles. The brush heads are made of non-marring Nylon 610, which is very oil resistant. All of this means the Breechtool® will not – and has NEVER – damaged a firearm since 2009.

Background & Development: The Breechtool® is the result of close collaboration with a huge group of specialists, including input from members of the armed forces of the United Kingdom, United States, and other countries. Development started in the U.K. in 2009 with direct involvement of soldiers, armorers, the Small Arms School Corps (SASC), and the Infantry Trials and Development Unit (ITDU) of the British Army, in conjunction with the University of Northumbria’s School of Computing Engineering and Information Sciences. It later surpassed all tests and requirements of the U.K. Police Firearms Units, enabling the Breechtool’s manufacturer to become an official supplier to these units.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are these brass cases and reloading components factory-new or once-fired? +

We stock both premium factory-new components and high-quality once-fired brass. Please check the specific product listing title and description carefully; once-fired brass is fully inspected, but we always recommend resizing and inspecting prior to priming and powder charging.

Will this case trimmer gauge or die set work with my progressive press setup? +

Our standard reloading dies and case length trimmer accessories utilize industry-standard threads (typically 7/8"-14) compatible with major single-stage, turret, and progressive presses like RCBS, Hornady, Lee Precision, and Dillon. Caliber-specific trim gauges must match your exact brass caliber.

Do you enforce shipping restrictions on powder, primers, or live ammunition? +

Yes. Non-hazardous reloading equipment (dies, case length trimmers, gauges, and unprimed brass) ships via standard ground carriers with no extra fees. Any orders containing smokeless powders or primers will incur standard federal HazMat handling fees and cannot be shipped via air transportation.

How can I track my shipment to ensure delivery safety? +

Precision reloading gear is valuable, so all orders are shipped with tracking enabled. As soon as your package is dispatched from our inventory warehouse, a tracking number will be emailed to you. You can monitor your shipment directly on our Track Order page using your unique Order ID.

Can I return precision measuring tools or die components if they don’t fit? +

We accept returns on unused, unaltered tools, case preparation equipment, and unopened component boxes within 30 days of item delivery. Due to safety and strict quality control on the reloading bench, we absolutely cannot accept returns on opened packs of primers, smokeless powder, or processed brass casings.
